SoCal NAVHDA Training Days
SoCal NAVHDA training days are generally held the second or third Sunday of each month at Prado Recreational Dog Park. The park opens at 7:30 AM and training begins shortly thereafter.
Below are the Training Day Dates for 2019:
January 20th; February 17th; March 10th; April 14th; May 19th; June TBD; July 14th; August 18th; September 22nd; October TBD.
Entry to the park is $15.00 per person or married couple (one vehicle).
Training Days Guidelines & Procedures
(1) Please keep your dog under control at all times, particularly when he/she is not working on a drill.
(2) Everyone in the field must wear blaze orange hat, t-shirt or vest. Members holding a gun in the field must have completed a hunter safety class or have a hunting license.
(3) Children are to be supervised and remain in the designated parking area at all times.
(4) No alcohol on premises.
(5) “Boat Safety”, persons under 12 years of age must wear a life jacket when in the boat.

Bumpers/ Dummies
Towel for muddy paws
Comb/brush to aid in the removal of burrs

Snacks (lunch is available for purchase on training days)
Appropriate Clothing/Footwear for Field/Water Work.
Bird Crates/Bird Bags for Your Ordered Birds
Break Action Shotgun (if you plan on shooting) - This is a NAVHDA requirement
Steel shot only (this is a California requirement)
First Aid Supplies
Sunscreen
Bug spray
Eye and ear protection
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE ABLE TO CONTROL YOUR DOG. THIS IS A GOOD SOCIALIZATION TIME FOR YOUR DOG, BUT ATTITUDE AND CONTROL IS AN IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTION FOR ALL IN ATTENDANCE.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A HUNTER ORANGE HAT OR VEST OR COAT TO WEAR.
